A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Robert "Bob" Snyder on the occasion of his retirement; and
for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Robert "Bob" Snyder has diligently and conscientiously devoted his time,
talents, and energy to UPS for the last 30 years, where he has served with honor
and distinction; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Snyder earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University and is a licensed professional
engineer in Georgia and Virginia; and
WHEREAS,
he has served as public affairs manager for UPS's Southeast Region since 2003,
where he has overseen all political outreach to local, state, and congressional
officials and candidates throughout Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina,
South Carolina, and Florida; and
WHEREAS,
he began his career with UPS as a plant engineering project engineer and has
served as manager of plant engineering, district manager of plant engineering,
manager of the building standards group, a member of the part-time people
support team of the corporate group, plant engineering manager for the Southwest
Region, a member of the corporate group in engineering, corporate public
affairs, and public affairs manager for the Southeast Region; and
WHEREAS,
during his three decades with the company, Mr. Snyder has overseen the building
of the Orlando Hub Facility and the expansion of the Pleasantdale Hub and
Operations facility, led expansion efforts for the company at its Dallas and Ft.
Worth hubs, expanded the company with the construction of package operation
centers in Austin and Tulsa, and helped win UPS aviation rights to land its
airplanes in China; and
WHEREAS,
a community leader, Mr. Snyder serves on the boards of the Wesleyan School in
Atlanta, the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, and several state trucking
associations; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of
this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mr. Robert "Bob" Snyder on his effective, efficient, and
visionary leadership with UPS; congratulate him upon the grand occasion of his
retirement; and extend to him best wishes for future health and
happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Robert
"Bob" Snyder.
