A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Captain Ben Bandy; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Captain Ben Bandy of the Trion Fire Department was awarded a plaque for valor by the Georgia State Firefighters Association and Georgia Association of Fire Chiefs at the 40th annual Firefighter's Recognition Day; and

WHEREAS, the Trion Fire Department was dispatched to a cardiac arrest incident; and

WHEREAS, upon arrival, Captain Bandy, along with Chief Jimmy Anderson, determined the patient had no pulse, immediately started CPR, and used an AED for additional life-saving support; and

WHEREAS, shortly thereafter, Emergency Medical Services arrived, were able to find a pulse, and had the patient transported to Redmond Hospital; and

WHEREAS, due to Captain Bandy's extraordinary efforts, the patient improved quickly with minimal residual effects from the cardiac arrest; and

WHEREAS, Captain Bandy's training and experience played an instrumental role in the outcome; and

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the extraordinary accomplishments of this distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the courageous and selfless dedication of Captain Ben Bandy and recognize him for being awarded a plaque for valor.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Captain Ben Bandy.
