RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mother Clara Georgia Sims on the occasion of her 100th birthday;
and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mother Clara Georgia Sims was born on March 1, 1912, in Oxford, Georgia, and
this year she enjoys the rare distinction of celebrating her 100th birthday;
and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mother Sims has been an active member of Bald
Rock Baptist Church for 86 years where she has served on the usher board, the
mother board, and the mission board, and was recognized as the oldest church
member in 2011; and
WHEREAS,
she was united in love and marriage to J.C. Sims and together they are blessed
with a remarkable daughter, three wonderful grandchildren, ten adored
great-grandchildren, and 12 amazing great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
the devotion, patience, and understanding Mother Sims has demonstrated have
provided the foundation and framework of success in which her family members
have developed and flourished; and
WHEREAS,
this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens; and
WHEREAS,
Mother Sims possesses the vast wisdom which only comes through experience and
the strength of character which is achieved through overcoming the many
challenges of life; and
WHEREAS,
she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
a kind and generous woman, Mother Sims brings joy and happiness to her many
friends, neighbors, and family members who have the great pleasure of knowing
her; and
WHEREAS,
by the example she has made of her life, Mother Sims makes this world a better
place in which to live, and it is only fitting and proper that she be
appropriately recognized during this very special and memorable time of her
life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body commend Mother Clara Georgia Sims on the remarkable occasion of her
100th birthday and extend to her their sincere best wishes for continued health
and happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mother Clara
Georgia Sims.
