A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending the Stephens County High School girls softball team; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, through perseverance and iron determination the Stephens County High School girls softball team finished with a 13-12-1 season with a "never say it's over" attitude; and

WHEREAS, their season record does not accurately reflect their attitude, but closer examination reveals their fighting spirit which led them to win eight out of their last nine games of the year; and

WHEREAS, the Stephens County High School girls softball team may have finished fifth in the region, but almost made it into the finals; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team, and the astute direction of Coach Chris Coldwell; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, and it is abundantly proper that their outstanding accomplishments be appropriately recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend the Stephens County High School girls softball team for their successful season and extend to them their sincere best wishes for the future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the Stephens County High School girls softball team.
