RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Rachel Astles; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
through training, talent, and determination, the Westminster Schools' Rachel
Astles earned the top ranking in the state with her wins at the State
Championship; and
WHEREAS,
with the training of Coach Pete Higgins, Rachel broke school record in both the
200 and 400 yard relay and made All-American performance for the fastest 100
times in the United States for the 200 yard relay; and
WHEREAS,
by her many achievements, grace, and positive attitude, Rachel has brought
credit to her parents, her community, her school, and this state;
and
WHEREAS,
all Georgians are proud of young women who, like Rachel, represent the very best
that this state has to offer; and
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation toward the future of this
bright and promising young citizen.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body heartily commend Rachel Astles for her spectacular scholastic
endeavors, congratulate her on winning the State Championship for swimming at
the Westminster Schools, and express to her their most sincere best wishes for
continued success in the future.

IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Rachel
Astles.
