RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mrs. Lula M. Marshall; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Mrs. Lula M. Marshall; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Marshall was born on May 11, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia, the beloved
daughter of the late Deacon Whiddon and Mother Lille Durr; and
WHEREAS,
she graduated from Luther Judson Price High School and earned her nursing
license after attending Atlanta Area Technical School of Nursing;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Marshall dedicated many years as a nurse in the obstetrics and gynecology
unit of Grady Memorial Hospital; and
WHEREAS,
a woman of deep and abiding faith, Mrs. Marshall was an active member of Atlanta
Bible Baptist Church, where she wrote missionary letters and sang tenor in the
choir; and
WHEREAS,
she was blessed with the love of her son, William, and her granddaughters,
Taylor, Autumn, and Jordan; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Marshall was known for her unique sense of humor, her jolly laugh, and her
love of signing; and
WHEREAS,
she leaves behind many who will cherish her memory, including her sisters, Annie
Marble, Doris Littlejohn, and Evelyn Bostock, and numerous nieces and nephews;
and
WHEREAS,
she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern
for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she
demonstrated to her family and friends were admired by others; and
WHEREAS,
she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example she made of
her life, she made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
a compassionate and generous woman, Mrs. Marshall will long be remembered for
her love of family and friendship, and this loyal mother, grandmother, sister,
aunt, and friend will be missed by all who had the great fortune of knowing
her.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mrs. Lula M. Marshall and
express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mrs. Lula M. Marshall.
