By: Representative Levitas of the 82nd

A RESOLUTION

Congratulating the Tucker High School football team on winning the 2008 Class AAAA State Championship and inviting the team to appear before the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, through perseverance and iron determination, the Tucker High School football team earned the top ranking in the state with their 15-3 win over Marist in the Georgia Dome; and

WHEREAS, these Tigers completed their impressive 14-1 season with a vindicatory roar, as their title earning victory was over the one team to defeat them during their regular season; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach Franklin Stephens; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Tucker High School football team for winning the 2008 Class AAAA State Championship and extend their sincerest best wishes for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the players and coaches of the Tucker High School football team are hereby invited to appear before the House of Representatives at a date and time to be fixed by the Speaker of the House for purposes of being recognized by the House and receiving an appropriate copy of this resolution.
