A RESOLUTION


Recognizing and commending Coy J. Dunn, Jr., Kennesaw Mountain High School 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year and Cobb County 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Coy J. Dunn has been recognized as Kennesaw Mountain High School and Cobb County Teacher of the Year and is known throughout Georgia as one of the premier educators in his field; and

WHEREAS, he was an outstanding student receiving a bachelor's degree in theatre education and public relations and a master's degree, with honors, in middle grade language arts from Berry College; and

WHEREAS, this highly respected teacher in the Cobb County school system has served with honor and distinction as a professional educator and has received numerous awards, honors, and recognitions; and

WHEREAS, he believes that his role as a teacher is to act as an instrument of inspiration and enthusiasm to his pupils and to create a positive learning environment through encouragement and understanding in which students can excel; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Dunn stands as a shining example of the important impact that individual classroom teachers are making on the quality of education received by the children of this state, and it is abundantly fitting and proper that his superlative contributions to his school, county, and state be recognized.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that this body commends Coy J. Dunn, Jr., for the dedication he has shown to his students and to the field of education and congratulates him on his selection as Kennesaw Mountain High School 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year and Cobb County 2011-2012 Teacher of the Year.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Coy J. Dunn, Jr.
