RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Hadassah on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America, Inc., was established on
February 24, 1912; and
WHEREAS,
Hadassah is the largest Jewish women's Zionist organization, with members in
every Congressional district; and
WHEREAS,
in Israel, Hadassah initiates and supports pace-setting health care, education,
and youth institutions; and
WHEREAS,
the Hadassah Medical Organization is the most advanced medical facility in the
Middle East, renowned for its cutting-edge medical research; and
WHEREAS,
in the United States, Hadassah enhances the quality of American and Jewish life
through its education and Zionist youth programs; and
WHEREAS,
a year-long celebration of Hadassah's 100th anniversary involving conferences,
festivals, films, lectures, concerts, parties, religious services, and
organization of trips to Israel will be held throughout the State of Georgia;
and
WHEREAS,
the Greater Atlanta Hadassah will commemorate the 100th anniversary on Sunday,
February 26, 2012; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that the contributions of Hadassah be
appropriately recognized.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize the 100th anniversary of Hadassah, the Women's Zionist
Organization of America, Inc., and extend their best wishes upon the occasion of
its centennial.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Hadassah.
