A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending the Stratford Academy boys soccer team on winning the Class AAA State Championship; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, through perseverance and iron determination, the Stratford Academy boys soccer team earned the top ranking in the state, earning the school a repeat State Championship title in boys soccer; and

WHEREAS, the Eagles completed their impressive season with a record of 17-5-1, earning 91 goals and ten shutouts; and

WHEREAS, the title-winning team consisted of talented athletes Ben Bowdoin, Malcolm Cesar, Chidi Ekeledo, Obi Ekeledo, Austin Etheridge, Stuart Firth, Matthew Fuller, Benton Graves, Tyler Hill, Mack Hodges, Stuart Kent, Rodney Noel, Kishan Patel, Ben Randolph, Ryan Ridley, Miles Seagler, Bo Stroup, John Treadwell, Thomas Watson, and Kyle Webb; and

WHEREAS, Ryan Ridley and Kyle Webb were named to the All-region team, while Obi Ekeledo, Mack Hodges, and Bo Stroup were named to both the All-region and All-state teams; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of the team is a clear indication of the outstanding athletic ability, the dedication and hard work, and the unity of purpose and spirit of each member of the team; their superb offensive and defensive talents; and the astute direction of Head Coach James Jordan, coaches Jeff Hale and Andrew Myler, and manager Emmy Stroup; and

WHEREAS, as this magnificent team earned its well-deserved reputation for excellence by performing with courage and precision over months of training and competition, it is abundantly proper to call them champions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate the Stratford Academy boys soccer team for winning the Class AAA State Championship and extend their sincere best wishes for future success.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit copies of this resolution to Head Coach James Jordan.
