RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mr. Charlie Frank Harris; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mr. Charlie Frank Harris has long been recognized for his role in leadership and
his deep personal commitment to the principles of agriculture and farming;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Harris has been a member of the Crawford County Farm Bureau since 1949 and
providing leadership and vision to the organization in the offices of president
and treasurer; and
WHEREAS,
he has diligently and conscientiously dedicated his time, talents, and energy to
numerous committees with the Crawford County Farm Bureau, including service on
the livestock committee for 20 years and with the county commodity committees
since their inception; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. Harris is active in the Farm Bureau at the district and state levels,
attending district leadership meetings, serving as a member for the Georgia Farm
Bureau Long Range Planning Committee for District 5, and providing leadership to
the state commodity committees since 1991; and
WHEREAS,
he has served as the Ocmulgee River Soil and Water Conservation Supervisor since
1973 and treasurer of the conservation district since 1979; and
WHEREAS,
dedicated to a life of agriculture, Mr. Harris has assisted the Georgia cattle
and dairy industry as past chairman of the Georgia Milk Producers for District
1, a member of the State Grazing Coalition, and a past committee member for Mid
American Dairymen, Inc.; and
WHEREAS,
in recognition for his remarkable accomplishments and commitment to the
agricultural industry of Georgia, Mr. Harris was nominated by the Crawford
County Farm Bureau for the Georgia Farm Bureau's 2009 Distinguished Service
Award; and
WHEREAS,
it is fitting that this body express its appreciation to Mr. Harris for the
great credit he reflects on his community and this state.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Mr. Charlie Frank Harris for decades of effective,
efficient, and selfless service to the agricultural industry of Georgia and
recognize him as a stellar steward of the land.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mr. Charlie
Frank Harris.
