A RESOLUTION

Recognizing and commending Miss Junior Dacula 2011 Reba Shelby Jack; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Reba Shelby Jack has shown by the example of her academic accomplishments and extracurricular involvement that the pursuit and attainment of excellence are within the reach of the students in this state; and

WHEREAS, a senior at Dacula High School, Reba recently earned the prestigious title of Miss Junior Dacula 2011; and

WHEREAS, committed to uplifting the lives of others through service to her community, Reba has been an active volunteer with the Gwinnett Relay for Life, Gwinnett County Special Olympics, Walk for Autism Speaks Now, Easter Seals Walk, Day of Hope in Lawrenceville, Step Out for Diabetes Walk, Skylar's Run for special needs children, Gwinnett County Humane Society's Pawfest, Walk for Lupus Now, Suwanee Music Festival, and Ms. Senior Athens Pageant to benefit Meals on Wheels; and

WHEREAS, Reba is a peer leader at Dacula High School where she volunteers with Open House, Celebration of Learning, and the Teacher of the Year Reception; and

WHEREAS, during her reign as Miss Junior Dacula, Reba has volunteered over 500 hours of community service and is in line to receive two gold medals from the President's Council on Civic Service and Volunteerism; and

WHEREAS, all Georgians are proud of young people who, like Reba, represent the very best that this state has to offer; and

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks forward with great anticipation to the promising and bright future of this remarkable young citizen.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body congratulate Reba Shelby Jack on being named Miss Junior Dacula 2011 and extend to her their best wishes for her near and distant future.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Junior Dacula 2011 Reba Shelby Jack.
