A RESOLUTION

Commending CeVontae Marque Miller and inviting him to be recognized by the House of Representatives; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, CeVontae Marque Miller, an 11 year old native of Ellenwood, Georgia, is the beloved son of Charlie Miller and Yvonne Miller; and

WHEREAS, CeVontae Marque Miller was inducted into the USA Marital Arts Hall of Fame in 2011; and

WHEREAS, he started martial arts training at the age of seven under the leadership, training, and guidance of Grandmaster Arthur P. Ferguson at Ferguson Karate Studio and is driven to be the best; and

WHEREAS, he currently holds a First Degree Dan Belt in Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do and has competed in numerous tournaments in which he has won trophies and medals for his competitive skills; and

WHEREAS, he is on the Ferguson Karate demo team which performs at community events, school events, and recently the Martin Luther King, Jr. 25th Anniversary Federal Holiday Observance Celebration; and

WHEREAS, the phenomenal performance of this young man is a clear indication of his outstanding athletic ability, dedication, and hard work; and

WHEREAS, this magnificent young man performed with precision throughout his tournaments and has come to earn the well-deserved reputation for high standards of athletic achievement, quality of training, and superior sportsmanship by providing assistance to his fellow students.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend CeVontae Marque Miller for his 2011 induction into the USA Martial Arts Hall of Fame and invite him to be recognized by the House of Representatives at a date and time designated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to CeVontae Marque Miller.
