RESOLUTION
Recognizing
Deacon Frank LaFavor and celebrating the occasion of his100th birthday; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Deacon Frank LaFavor was born on January 28, 1912 on the Can Plantation, beloved
son of Lillie Neal LaFavor and Willie LaFavor; and
WHEREAS,
he was united in love and marriage to the late Viola for 40 spectacular years,
and was blessed with ten remarkable children, James Frank, Barbara Jean,
Carolyn, Ellis, Eddie, Lillie Mae, Rosa Mae, Daisy Mae, Corine, David Lee, and
Jeffery, 28 adored grandchildren, 55 wonderful great-grandchildren, and 11
admired great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
a man of deep and abiding faith, Deacon Frank has been an active member of
Canaan Galilee Baptist Church since 1929 where he was ordained as a deacon in
1932, served on the deacon board for over 80 years, and is currently serving as
chairman of the deacon board and Sunday School teacher; and
WHEREAS,
the unmatched spiritual assistance offered by Deacon Frank is a source of
strength and direction for persons in all walks of life and from all economic
strata; and
WHEREAS,
he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and
WHEREAS,
it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message
of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works
rendered on behalf of persons in need and during this very special and memorable
time of his life.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize Deacon Frank LaFavor for his many years of service to
Canaan Galilee Baptist Church and his community, commend him on the occasion of
his 100th birthday, and wish him many more years of happiness.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Deacon Frank
LaFavor.
