A
RESOLUTION
Honoring
the life and memory of Mr. Bill H. LeCroy; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens
with the passing of Mr. Bill H. LeCroy on December 8, 2010; and
WHEREAS,
Mr. LeCroy was born on December 12, 1926, a beloved son of the late Roscoe H.
And Mable Stephenson LeCroy; and
WHEREAS,
he served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United
States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans during
World War II as a corporal and radio operator with the 88th Blue Devil Division;
and
WHEREAS,
a graduate of Carnesville High School, Mr. LeCroy earned a bachelor's degree
from Piedmont College and served as a teacher at Eagle Grove Elementary and
Hartwell High Schools and principal of Bowersville Elementary School before
retiring from education in 1960; and
WHEREAS,
after his retirement from education, Mr. LeCroy became the second agent ever
hired by the Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Company and served as an agent and
agency manager for over 37 years in Franklin County; and
WHEREAS,
a man of deep and abiding faith, Mr. LeCroy was an active member of Cross Roads
Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, trustee, and Sunday school teacher;
and
WHEREAS,
Mr. LeCroy was united in love and marriage for 58 wonderful years to his wife
Betty Payne LeCroy, and was blessed with the support of his children, Michael
LeCroy and Cynthia and Edward Schemel, and four wonderful grandchildren,
Christopher, Adam, Alayna, and Lee; and
WHEREAS,
he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern
for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he
demonstrated to his family and friends were admired by others; and
WHEREAS,
he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for
integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness and, by the example he made of
his life, he made this world a better place in which to live; and
WHEREAS,
a compassionate and generous man, Mr. LeCroy will long be remembered for his
love of family and friendship, and this loyal husband, brother, father,
grandfather, and friend will be missed by all who had the great fortune of
knowing him.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body join in honoring the life and memory of Mr. Bill H. LeCroy and express
their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the family of
Mr. Bill H. LeCroy.
