BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 15-5-20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the creation, powers, duties, and composition of the Judicial Council of
Georgia, so as to require such council to include the president and
president-elect of the Council of Municipal Court Judges of Georgia; to provide
for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other
purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 15-5-20 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
creation, powers, duties, and composition of the Judicial Council of Georgia, is
amended by revising subsection (b) as follows:
"(b)
Members of the council
and their
terms shall be as provided by the Supreme
Court and
shall include the president and president-elect of the Council of Municipal
Court Judges of Georgia. The terms of the members shall be as provided by the
Supreme Court. The members of the council
shall receive no compensation for their services but shall be reimbursed for
their actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties as members of
the council."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
