BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 50-17-53 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to the authority to determine the amount to be deposited and deposit security
required, so as to provide that no financial institution which charges a fee for
cashing a check drawn on such institution shall be eligible to serve as a state
depository; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.
BE
IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 50-17-53 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to the
authority to determine the amount to be deposited and deposit security required,
is amended by designating the existing portion of such Code section as
subsection (a) and by adding a new subsection to read as follows:
"(b)
No financial institution which charges a fee for cashing a check drawn on such
institution shall be eligible to serve as a state
depository."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
