BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
AN ACT
To
amend Code Section 33-7-11.1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating
to commencement of liability of insurer to pay benefits to a third party on
behalf of insured, so as to provide for payment to certain third parties that
provide certain services relating to the repair of a motor vehicle for which an
insurance claim has been made; to provide for related matters; to repeal
conflicting laws; and for other purposes.

IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:
SECTION
1.
Code
Section 33-7-11.1 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to
commencement of liability of insurer to pay benefits to a third party on behalf
of insured, is amended by adding a new subsection to read as
follows:
"(b.1)
Any insurer, upon acceptance of liability pursuant to any automobile liability
insurance policy, shall pay reasonable repair benefits directly to the repair
facility on behalf of the
insured."
SECTION
2.
All
laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.
