    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to behavioral health services;
    3         requiring the Agency for Health Care Administration,
    4         by specified dates, to seek federal approval and amend
    5         its rules as needed to allow for reimbursement of
    6         specified services under the state Medicaid program;
    7         providing an effective date.
    8          
    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. (1)By July 1, 2024, the Agency for Health Care
   12  Administration shall seek federal authority through a state plan
   13  amendment and Medicaid waiver to allow for Medicaid
   14  reimbursement of all of the following services:
   15         (a)Self-help and peer support services provided by a
   16  certified recovery peer specialist as a rehabilitative service
   17  option.
   18         (b)Individual and group therapy provided by certified
   19  addiction professionals and certified mental health
   20  professionals working in a state-licensed substance abuse
   21  treatment facility or community behavioral health center who are
   22  certified through a department-approved credentialing entity as
   23  defined in s. 397.311(10), Florida Statutes.
   24         (c)Case management services provided by certified
   25  behavioral health case managers and certified behavioral health
   26  case manager supervisors in accordance with s. 394.4573(2)(e),
   27  Florida Statutes.
   28         (2)By December 31, 2024, the Agency for Health Care
   29  Administration shall amend all applicable agency rules as needed
   30  to implement the coverage of services specified in subsection
   31  (1).
   32         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
