    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the authority of certain
    3         professionals to practice in this state; amending ss.
    4         455.2185 and 456.023, F.S.; deleting provisions that
    5         limit the practice privileges of out-of-state or
    6         foreign health care professionals or veterinarians who
    7         are in this state for a specific sporting event;
    8         providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Section 455.2185, Florida Statutes, is amended
   13  to read:
   14         455.2185 Exemption for certain out-of-state or foreign
   15  professionals; limited practice permitted.—
   16         (1) A professional of any other state or of any territory
   17  or other jurisdiction of the United States or of any other
   18  nation or foreign jurisdiction is exempt from the requirements
   19  of licensure under this chapter and the applicable professional
   20  practice act under the agency with regulatory jurisdiction over
   21  the profession if that profession is regulated in this state
   22  under the agency with regulatory jurisdiction over the
   23  profession and if that person:
   24         (a) Holds, if so required in the jurisdiction in which that
   25  person practices, an active license to practice that profession.
   26         (b) Engages in the active practice of that profession
   27  outside the state.
   28         (c) Is employed or designated in that professional capacity
   29  by a sports entity visiting the state for a specific sporting
   30  event.
   31         (2) A professional’s practice under this section is limited
   32  to the members, coaches, and staff of the team for which that
   33  professional is employed or designated and to any animals used
   34  if the sporting event for which that professional is employed or
   35  designated involves animals. A professional practicing under
   36  authority of this section shall not have practice privileges in
   37  any licensed veterinary facility without the approval of that
   38  facility.
   39         Section 2. Section 456.023, Florida Statutes, is amended to
   40  read:
   41         456.023 Exemption for certain out-of-state or foreign
   42  professionals; limited practice permitted.—
