    2         An act relating to the DNA database; amending s.
    3         943.325, F.S.; revising legislative findings relating
    4         to the use of the DNA database; providing an effective
    5         date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (1) of section
   10  943.325, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   11         943.325 DNA database.—
   12         (1) LEGISLATIVE INTENT.—
   13         (b) The Legislature also finds that upon establishment of
   14  the Florida DNA database, a match between casework evidence DNA
   15  samples from a criminal investigation and DNA samples from a
   16  state or federal DNA database of certain offenders may be used
   17  to find probable cause for the issuance of a warrant for arrest,
   18  or to obtain the DNA sample from an offender.
   19         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2019.
