    2         An act relating to sites of historic interest and
    3         value within the state park system; amending s.
    4         258.007, F.S.; authorizing historical monuments to be
    5         erected and maintained; requiring express legislative
    6         approval for such historical monuments; providing an
    7         effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (5) of section
   12  258.007, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   13         258.007 Powers of division.—
   14         (5)(a) The division, in cooperation with the Division of
   15  Historical Resources of the Department of State, may is
   16  authorized and empowered to select and designate, within the
   17  state park system, sites of historic interest and value within
   18  the state park system and to erect and maintain appropriate
   19  signs, or markers, or, with express legislative approval,
   20  historical monuments indicating said sites upon public property
   21  as well as upon private property where permission is obtained.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
