    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to virtual instruction courses for
    3         students with disabilities; amending s. 1002.45, F.S.;
    4         requiring that each virtual instruction program
    5         provide virtual courses in accessible formats for
    6         students with disabilities which are compatible with
    7         assistive technology products and assistive listening
    8         systems; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Paragraph (f) is added to subsection (3) of
   13  section 1002.45, Florida Statutes, to read:
   14         1002.45 Virtual instruction programs.—
   15         (3) VIRTUAL INSTRUCTION PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS.—Each virtual
   16  instruction program under this section must:
   17         (f) Provide virtual courses in accessible formats for
   18  students with disabilities, including, but not limited to,
   19  students who are visually impaired, learning disabled, or
   20  physically disabled. Accessible formats include virtual courses
   21  that are compatible with assistive technology products and
   22  assistive listening systems.
   23         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
