Florida Senate - 2017 CS for SB 576 By the Committee on Transportation; and Senator Campbell 596-01946-17 2017576c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to transportation facility 3 designations; amending chapter 26497, Laws of Florida, 4 1951; revising the name of an honorary designation of 5 a transportation facility in a specified county; 6 directing the Department of Transportation to erect 7 suitable markers; providing honorary designations of 8 various transportation facilities in specified 9 counties; directing the Department of Transportation 10 to erect suitable markers; amending chapter 2014-228, 11 Laws of Florida; revising the name of an honorary 12 designation of a transportation facility in a 13 specified county; providing an effective date. 14 15 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 16 17 Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 26497, Laws of Florida, 18 1951, is amended to read: 19 Section 1. That the following described route be and the 20 same is hereby declared, designated and established as a State 21 Road, forming a part of the connecting system of the State of 22 Florida, and shall be known as the SHEPARD BROAD CAUSEWAY 23BOULEVARD. 24 Beginning at the intersection of State Road AIA and 96th 25 Street in Dade County, Florida, and running in a Westerly 26 direction, as nearlynearas possible in a direct line, through 27 the Town of Bay Harbor Islands, Florida, across Broad Causeway, 28 spanning Biscayne Bay, and through the Town of North Miami, 29 Florida, to the point where such highway shall intersect with 30 State Road Number 7, along the most practicable and feasible 31 route to be determined by the State Road Department. 32 Section 2. The Department of Transportation is directed to 33 erect suitable markers correcting the designation of the 34 transportation facility pursuant to the amendment made to 35 section 1 of chapter 26497, Laws of Florida, 1951. 36 Section 3. Transportation facility designations; Department 37 of Transportation to erect suitable markers.— 38 (1) That portion of Palm Avenue between Pembroke Road and 39 Miramar Parkway in Broward County is designated as “Candice 40 Ellize Francois Street.” 41 (2) That portion of S.R. 9/N.W. 27th Avenue between S.R. 42 934/N.W. 79th Street and N.W. 41st Street in Miami-Dade County 43 is designated as “Georgia Ayers Way.” 44 (3) That portion of N.W. 32nd Avenue between N.W. 87th 45 Street and N.W. 83rd Street in Miami-Dade County is designated 46 as “Dr. Clifford Garfield O’Connor Street.” 47 (4) That portion of U.S. 441/S.R. 7 between N.W. 155th Lane 48 and N.W. 151st Street in Miami-Dade County is designated as 49 “Robert ‘Bobby’ L. Parker, Sr., Memorial Highway.” 50 (5) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect 51 suitable markers designating the transportation facilities as 52 described in this section. 53 Section 4. Section 28 of chapter 2014-228, Laws of Florida, 54 is amended to read: 55 Section 28. Reverend Wilner MaxyMaxiStreet designated; 56 Department of Transportation to erect suitable markers.— 57 (1) That portion of N.E. 73rd Street between N.E. 2nd 58 Avenue and N.E. 3rd Court in Miami-Dade County is designated as 59 “Reverend Wilner MaxyMaxiStreet.” 60 (2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect 61 suitable markers designating Reverend Wilner MaxyMaxiStreet as 62 described in subsection (1). 63 Section 5. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017.
