    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to specialty license plates; amending
    3         s. 320.08058, F.S.; directing the Department of
    4         Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to develop an
    5         Ethical Ecotourism license plate; providing for
    6         distribution and use of fees collected from the sale
    7         of the plate; providing an effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (119) is added to section 320.08058,
   12  Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         320.08058 Specialty license plates.—
   14         (119)ETHICAL ECOTOURISM LICENSE PLATES.—
   15         (a)The department shall develop an Ethical Ecotourism
   16  license plate as provided in this section and s. 320.08053. The
   17  word “Florida” must appear at the top of the plate, and words
   18  approved by the department must appear at the bottom of the
   19  plate.
   20         (b)The annual use fees from the sale of the plate shall be
   21  distributed equally between the Florida Society for Ethical
   22  Ecotourism, Inc., and Paddle Florida, Inc., each of which may
   23  use up to 10 percent of such proceeds for administrative costs
   24  and the marketing of the plate. The remaining proceeds must be
   25  used by the Florida Society for Ethical Ecotourism, Inc., to
   26  provide environmental education and awareness that encourage
   27  behaviors that contribute to the sustainability of Florida’s
   28  natural ecosystems and resources and by Paddle Florida, Inc., to
   29  raise awareness about water conservation, wildlife preservation,
   30  restoration of springs, and protection of waterways in this
   31  state.
   32         Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2022.
