    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to insurance coverage for state
    3         officers; restricting participation of state officers
    4         in certain state group insurance programs that provide
    5         benefits in excess of those offered to Medicaid
    6         recipients; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the
   11  contrary, a state officer, as defined in s. 110.123, Florida
   12  Statutes, is not eligible to participate in a state group
   13  insurance program, as defined in s. 110.123, Florida Statutes,
   14  which provides benefits in excess of the benefits available to a
   15  Medicaid recipient, as defined in s. 409.962, Florida Statutes.
   16         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2016.
