1	House Resolution
2	A resolution designating November 17, 2011, as "Children's
3	Grief Awareness Day" in Florida.

5	WHEREAS, children who have had a loved one die, especially
6	a friend or close family member, can carry that loss with them
7	forever, causing confusion and fearfulness as they struggle to
8	understand why their loved one was taken away, and
9	WHEREAS, many trained professionals working at dedicated
10	children's grief centers throughout the state offer bereavement
11	counseling to children and their families, and
12	WHEREAS, such counseling provides emotional support for
13	children struggling with grief, allowing them to find guidance
14	and understanding during an extremely difficult time, and
15	WHEREAS, on November 17, 2011, citizens and communities
16	throughout Florida are encouraged to wear blue in an effort to
17	raise awareness and show their support for mournful children and
18	the grief centers that seek to serve those young people
19	confounded by the reality of death, NOW, THEREFORE,
20
21	Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
22	Florida:

24	That the Florida House of Representatives designates
25	November 17, 2011, as "Children's Grief Awareness Day" in
26	Florida.
