1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to public food service establishments;
3	creating s. 509.234, F.S.; requiring public food service
4	establishments to serve sugar free substitutes for certain
5	syrups and fruit preserves and provide notice to guests of
6	the availability of such sugar free substitutes; providing
7	requirements for such notice; providing an effective date.

9	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11	Section 1. Section 509.234, Florida Statutes, is created
12	to read:
13	509.234 Sugar free substitutes for syrups and fruit
14	preserves; notice to guests.-A public food service establishment
15	that serves pancake or waffle syrup or any jelly, jam,
16	marmalade, or other fruit preserves must:
17	(1) Serve a sugar free substitute for such syrup or fruit
18	preserves.
19	(2) Provide notice to guests of the availability of such
20	sugar free syrup or fruit preserves. The notice must be included
21	on the establishment's food menu and displayed prominently in
22	any location at the establishment where any foods served with
23	such syrup or fruit preserves are advertised for sale,
24	including, but not limited to, the posting of daily specials, an
25	overhead menu posted at a food service counter, an outdoor menu
26	posted for guests using a drive-through service window, and any
27	signage posted at the establishment.
28	Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2010.
