1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to health benefit plans; creating s.
3	627.66991, F.S.; providing definitions; requiring certain
4	health benefit plans to authorize licensed pharmacists and
5	permitted pharmacies to serve as participating pharmacy
6	services providers for any of the plan's participants
7	under certain circumstances; providing an effective date.

9	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11	Section 1.  Section 627.66991, Florida Statutes, is created
12	to read:
13	627.66991  Health benefit plans; authorization of
14	participating pharmacy services providers.-
15	(1)  As used in this section, the term:
16	(a)  "Health benefit plan" has the same meaning as provided
17	in s. 627.6699.
18	(b)  "Pharmacy services" means services provided by a
19	pharmacist as defined in s. 465.003 licensed to practice the
20	profession of pharmacy as defined in s. 465.003.
21	(2)  A health benefit plan that provides pharmacy services
22	as a benefit must authorize a pharmacist licensed under chapter
23	465 or a pharmacy issued a permit under chapter 465, if the
24	pharmacist or pharmacy agrees to the plan's terms, conditions,
25	reimbursement rates, and standards of quality, to serve as a
26	participating pharmacy services provider for any of the plan's
27	participants.
28	Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
