DELAWARE STATE SENATE

146th GENERAL ASSEMBLY

SENATE BILL NO. 62

AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 29 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO COMPENSATION FOR MEMBERS OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1. Amend §710, Title 29 of the Delaware Code by deleting subsection (c) in its entirety.

Section 2. This Act shall be effective beginning with the 147th General Assembly, with the exception of members newly assuming the duties of the listed positions because of a vacancy. For such members, this Act shall be effective immediately upon assuming such position.

SYNOPSIS

This Bill eliminates the stipends for certain members of committees, chairs of certain committees and leadership positions as itemized in §710(c) of Title 29. It grandfathers all existing members in such positions until the next General Assembly. This bill would save the State of Delaware approximately $327,000.
