SENATE BILL NO. 203

AN ACT TO NAME THE DINING HALL AT BAYLOR WOMEN'S CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION IN HONOR OF HAYWARD ROY JR.



WHEREAS, Hayward Roy, Jr.'s job title at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution was Food Service Instructor; and

WHEREAS, Hayward Roy, Jr. was the first employee assigned to the Institute to teach culinary arts under the education program; and

WHEREAS,Hayward Roy, Jr. was a chef serving in the United States Air Force for twenty years, and served for an additional eight yearsin the Air Force Reserves before retiring in November 1996; and

WHEREAS,Hayward Roy, Jr., as Executive Chef, graduated from numerous culinary schools, and taught an estimated hundreds of women the culinary arts and supervised them in dozens of catering exercises for the State, school, and prison events from April 27, 1992 to his passing on February 16, 1997..

NOW THEREFORE:

BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:

Section 1.The Dining Hall at the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution is hereby named the "Hayward Roy, Jr. Dining Hall".

Section 2.Appropriate signs shall be placed on the building to reflect the fact that it is the "Hayward Roy, Jr. Dining Hall".


SYNOPSIS

This Bill names the Dining Hall at the Baylor Women's correctional Institution in honor of Hayward Roy, Jr.
