HOUSE BILL NO. 446
AN ACT TO AMEND TITLE 9 OF THE DELAWARE CODE RELATING TO KENT COUNTY BOARD OF ASSESSMENT REVIEW.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF DELAWARE:
Section 1. Amend Chapter 41, Title 9 of the Delaware Code by making deletions as shown by strike through and insertions as shown by underline as follows:

Subchapter II. Powers and Duties
§ 4125. Board of Assessment Review.
(a) Levy Court, by ordinance, shall establish a Board of Assessment Review. The Board of Assessment Review shall consist of 7 members. The Levy Court shall appoint one member from each of the Levy Court Districts. The term and residency requirements of each member shall be determined by Levy Court. Levy Court shall provide compensation in the amount not to exceed $100 per meeting for members and $125 per meeting for the chairperson. chairperson in amounts established by Levy Court in the County annual operating budget ordinance. Furthermore, Levy Court shall provide for the filling of vacancies on the Board of Assessment Review.
SYNOPSIS
The Kent County Levy Court sets equal compensation for the members and chairpersons of all Kent County boards and commissions in the annual operating budget ordinance. Currently all members of the other boards and commissions are compensated at a rate of $150.00 per meeting attended. Chairpersons are compensated at a rate of $175.00 per meeting attended. This Act will allow the members and Chairperson of the Board of Assessment Review to receive the same compensation as those appointed to all other boards and commissions by the Kent County Levy Court.
