Summary

On December 8, 2010, President Obama signed the Claims Resolution Act into law (Public Law 111-291).This federal law contains a provision applicable to the State Directory of New Hires which requires a change to 2208(c) of Title 13 and 1156A of Title 30. Specifically, employers are required to report the date an employee first performs services for pay as a data element when reporting to the State Directory of New Hires. Failure to comply with this federal law would disallow the Division of Child Support Enforcement’s state plan causing it to lose 66% of its federal financial participation.
