Summary

As introduced Bill 25-695 would establish an independent agency the Office of Neighborhood Engagement and Safety Agency to coordinate the District’s violence prevention efforts. It requires a study on how to enhance recruitment tactics for youth prospects for the Metropolitan Police Departments and enhance retention of senior officers. It would enhance the First Responder benefits for the Employee Assisted Housing Program. It would also clarify the standards of eligibility to be a member of the Metropolitan Police Department.
