Summary

As introduced, this bill requires the installation of carbon monoxide detectors by the owner of each dwelling unit, hotel, motel, nursing home, prison, residential care facility and hospital in the District. It requires tenants to notify the owner if the tenant becomes aware of an inoperable or defective carbon monoxide device. It prohibits tenants from removing or tampering with an installed carbon monoxide detector unless directed by the owner.
