AN ACT CONCERNING PENSION OFFSETS UNDER THE WORKER'S COMPENSATION ACT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

Section 1. (NEW) (Effective October 1, 2011) No pension or retirement plan shall offset or reduce payment of pension or retirement benefits to an eligible beneficiary of such plan by amounts awarded to such eligible beneficiary, pursuant to section 31-308 of the general statutes, for a specific loss of member or use of the function of a member of the body.


This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following sections:
Section 1	October 1, 2011	New section

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent pension or retirement plans from offsetting or reducing pension or retirement benefits by amounts received by the beneficiary in workers' compensation payments for the specific loss of member or use of function of a member of the body.
