AN ACT CONCERNING PROPERTY TAX RELIEF FOR MEMBERS OF THE ARMED FORCES ON ACTIVE DUTY OUTSIDE OF THE UNITED STATES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That section 12-146c of the general statutes be amended to (1) apply to members of the armed forces serving on any military operation, not just those serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, and (2) require interest to be waived for the duration of such members' service outside the United States, not just for one year.

Statement of Purpose:

To prohibit municipalities from charging interest on delinquent property taxes due from members of the armed forces serving outside of the United States.
