AN ACT CONCERNING DISCLOSURES FOR CREDIT CARD BALANCE TRANSFERS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require that any company soliciting consumers for the purchase of a credit card balance transfer shall notify the consumer of the existing credit limit on such credit card and the remaining balance available upon transfer.

Statement of Purpose:

To prevent predatory credit card balance transfers.
