AN ACT CONCERNING THE VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER ETCHING SERVICE CHARGE LISTED ON THE ORDER FOR THE SALE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 14-99h of the general statutes be amended to require any new car dealer or used car dealer to clarify on the order for the sale of any motor vehicle that the vehicle identification number etching service is optional and to require that any charge for such service is listed separately on such order as a purchase option.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that the optional vehicle identification number etching service charge is listed with purchase options on the order for the sale of a motor vehicle.
