AN ACT ESTABLISHING A PROPERTY TAX CREDIT FOR SENIOR CITIZEN VOLUNTEERS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That chapter 203 of the general statutes be amended to require municipalities to provide a property tax credit to senior citizens who volunteer in the municipality in which they reside, available on a sliding scale based upon the number of volunteer hours completed and not to exceed two thousand dollars per year.
Statement of Purpose:
To incentivize senior citizens to volunteer in their communities by providing tax relief.
