AN ACT CONCERNING THE FINANCIAL VIABILITY OF PRIVATE NURSING HOME FACILITIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-535 of the general statutes be amended to provide that a private nursing home shall only be required to provide continued care to a resident if there is a funding source for the resident's care, or alternatively, the resident has vested title to his or her residential home to the nursing home facility.
Statement of Purpose:
To ease the burden on private nursing homes by exempting such facilities from the responsibility to provide continued care to a resident who lacks the financial means to pay for the care.
