AN ACT CONCERNING STATE PAYMENTS TO PRIVATE NURSING HOMES FOR UNCOMPENSATED CARE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 19a-670 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the state shall make payments to private nursing homes that are providing care to residents but are receiving no compensation for the care provided. Funding for such payments shall come from sources that include, but are not limited to, the state's disproportionate share account.
Statement of Purpose:
To authorize state payments to private nursing homes in order to help defray the costs incurred by such homes when providing uncompensated care.
