AN ACT REQUIRING PAID LEAVE FOR VETERANS ON VETERANS' DAY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to require each employer in the state to provide paid leave on November eleventh of each year, in recognition of Veterans' Day, to any veteran if November eleventh falls on the veteran's regularly scheduled work day, and, if such veteran must work on November eleventh, such veteran be paid at a rate equal to one and one-half times such veteran's hourly rate.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide veterans with a paid day off on Veterans' Day.
