AN ACT ALLOWING TOWNS TO PAY STIPENDS TO RESIDENTS SERVING ON THE LOCAL BOARD OF EDUCATION.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to allow towns to pay a stipend to residents who serve on local boards of education in order to offset personal expenses incurred from serving, such as child care, transportation and reduced income.
Statement of Purpose:
To encourage more residents to serve on local boards of education.
