AN ACT CONCERNING THE DUTY OF A PSYCHIATRIST TO WARN LAW ENFORCEMENT AUTHORITIES OF A DANGEROUS INDIVIDUAL IN SUCH PSYCHIATRIST'S CARE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require psychiatrists to alert local and state law enforcement authorities if they determine that a patient they are treating is either a threat or danger to himself or herself or to others.
Statement of Purpose:
To require psychiatrists to alert local and state law enforcement authorities if they determine that a patient they are treating is either a threat or danger to himself or herself or to others.
