AN ACT CONCERNING EVIDENCE OF HEALTH INSURANCE PAYMENTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That section 52-225a of the general statutes be amended to allow either party to introduce evidence of collateral source payments, including health insurance payments, at the time of trial for the purpose of proving the amount of the claimant's economic damages.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow either party to a personal injury or wrongful death action to introduce evidence of health insurance payments to establish or challenge the amount of claimed past and future medical costs to be awarded by a jury.
