AN ACT AUTHORIZING MUNICIPALITIES TO IMPOSE A HOTEL TAX.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to authorize municipalities to impose a four per cent hotel tax to be distributed as follows: Two per cent to the host municipality; one per cent to a shared municipal fund; and one per cent to the state tourism account.

Statement of Purpose:

To give municipalities the option to implement a four per cent hotel tax.
