AN ACT CONCERNING PRISON LIBRARY STANDARDS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 325 of the general statutes be amended to provide that the Commissioner of Correction shall study and make findings concerning the policies and best practices of the Federal Bureau of Prisons regarding standards for prison libraries and shall develop administrative directives for the libraries in state correctional facilities in accordance with such findings.

Statement of Purpose:

To develop administrative directives for libraries in state correctional facilities that are modeled after federal prison standards.
