AN ACT MANDATING DNA TESTING OF PERSONS ARRESTED FOR SERIOUS FELONIES.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 54 of the general statutes, concerning criminal procedure, be amended to require all persons arrested for the commission of a serious felony offense to provide a DNA sample for identification purposes.
Statement of Purpose:
To reduce wrongful convictions, save the lives of potential victims and bring justice for the guilty and innocent alike by expanding the DNA data bank.
