AN ACT PROMOTING PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That title 17a of the general statutes be amended to (1) implement the recommendations of a 2011 study by the Legislative Program Review and Investigations Committee regarding the provision of services to clients with intellectual disabilities by increased utilization of private service providers, and (2) convene a task force of stakeholders who shall report to the legislature not later than January 1, 2016, on opportunities for public and private collaboration to provide certain services, including, but not limited to, those provided by the Departments of Children and Families and Developmental Services.

Statement of Purpose:

To promote public-private partnerships and increase efficiency in the provision of state services for persons with intellectual disabilities.
